mzio is a Bremen-based company built by analytical chemists around mzmine, the open-source mass spectrometry platform that has been in development since 2005. We build the platform, support the labs that depend on it, and keep contributing to the project itself.

We share our source code with the scientific community, and that is what lets us ship powerful algorithms, seamless data integration and interfaces people can actually use. The modular framework means new modules can be written and tested independently, without touching the rest of the software, which is why contributions from developers and research groups anywhere in the world are genuinely welcome.

The methods are published, the source is on GitHub, and the Community plan is free for degree-awarding institutions. Two decades of that is what built the user base, the citation record and the contributor network mzmine runs on today.
