mzio has won the Bremer Gründungspreis 2026 in the startup category, awarded each year by Die Sparkasse Bremen AG and Starthaus Bremen to young companies from the region.

Die Sparkasse Bremen AG and Starthaus Bremen hand out this award each year to young companies from the region, and being selected only two years after founding means a great deal to the whole team.
None of it would exist without the mzmine community. Our developments have been carried for years by researchers who report issues, write code, test new features, and push the science forward in public. That collective effort is the ground everything at mzio is built on, and this recognition belongs to it as much as to us.
We are just as grateful to our customers and early adopters who trusted a young company with their work. Backing us before there was much of a track record took some faith, and your feedback has shaped the software more than any roadmap of ours could.
The prize also came with a short film about our company. It captures the people and the work better than we could in writing.
