mzio wins the Startup Innovation Award at IMSC 2026

The International Mass Spectrometry Foundation has awarded mzio the Startup Innovation Award at the 26th International Mass Spectrometry Conference in Lyon.

The award recognises young companies bringing new ideas into mass spectrometry, and it was presented on the final day of the conference by IMSF President Prof. Dr. Ron Heeren and local organiser Prof. Dr. Isabelle Compagnon.

Receiving it at IMSC means a particular amount to us. This is the meeting where the field gathers, and the work being recognised is not something we did alone.

mzmine has been built in the open for twenty years by researchers who report issues, contribute code, test releases and argue about the right way to process data. Everything mzio does rests on that. An award for the company is, in a real sense, an award for the community that made the software worth building a company around.

We are grateful too to the comapnies who took a chance on a young company, and whose feedback has shaped the software more directly than any roadmap of ours.
